FUNDING ARRANGEMENTS

The Annual Ceramic Art show is organised and presented by the Ceramic Art Association of NSW Inc, which is a not-for-profit organisation aiming to help promote the art of ceramics in NSW.

Its members come from all sections of the industry including manufacturers, distributors, teachers, studios, students, and hobby ceramic enthusiasts throughout NSW, plus a few from interstate.

Funding of the Annual Shows does not come from Membership fees however. Each Show aims to be self supporting – covering the costs of insurance, refreshments, hall and table hire, etc.

In 2010 income will come from:–

Entry fees for the Ceramic Competition pieces;
Entrance fees taken during the one and a half days of public viewing;
Table Hire fees from vendors selling craft items;
Any profit made from the sale of refreshments.

It has been increasingly difficult in recent years to cover costs on each Show due to a falling interest in hobby ceramics, causing fewer entries to the competition and lowered attendance on the public viewing days. The Show Committee has again worked hard this year to minimise costs, increase income and aims to at least 'break even'.

So, let us all try to strongly support the Show this year! We need lots of entries to make up for the missing studios and we need to encourage lots more people to come on the public open days.

Please help to share these aims in your local studio and amongst friends!

If you have any good ideas to help the Show, or would like to volunteer to help run things at the 2010 Show, please write or telephone one of the Committee members as soon as possible.
