The report on this page summarises what the Committee and other volunteers from the CAA of NSW were able to achieve at this event, on behalf of all the Association's members.

This year, Stand 142 on the ground floor, (see photo above) was offered free to the Association by Reed Exhibitions as long as it could be staffed from 10am to 5pm on all five show days, Wednesday through Sunday. This was achieved with volunteers from Studio members Carmos Creative Supplies, Fired Up Arts, KMB Ceramics, and some of the students of these studios.

The volunteers handed out about 180 Association Membership Lists and answered questions from interested visitors, and a good number of free-lesson vouchers were given to really keen people.  We hope this give-away results in new people turning up at the studios who donated the vouchers!

The volunteers also helped run the ceramic 'hands-on' one hour workshop at 10.45 a.m. each day; and to give the demonstration at 2.45 p.m. each day.

The theme of the CAA workshop this time was "Garden Art" where visitors to the Show could, for a small fee, learn various techniques to paint a piece suitable for their garden or patio.  They had a choice of fairies, and various animals like ducks, hedgehogs, caterpillars, and butterflies.  About 20 people attended the workshops over the five days and all seemed very happy with what they produced. The proceeds from the workshops will help the Association with future expenses and the Annual Show.

The free afternoon demonstrations were handled by our President, Kerrie Girard, who each afternoon showed how to do various techniques used in ceramics - such as banding and sgraffito.
